Positive Mindset

For the longest time, my outlook on live was very negative.  The glass for me was always half empty.  I lived in the thought pattern that I could not get excited or be happy about anything, because something negative would come around in life and cancel out that positive.  This was a horrible way to live, as one cannot enjoy life if they cannot experience happiness and joy in life events.  I remember people would ask me, ‘hey are you excited about the trip’ or ‘you should be pretty happy that you got that raise’ or whatever other positive event might have occurred in my life.  But I purposely suppressed any excitement, either within my mind or in my external expression.  I would say, ‘meh, I don’t get excited about things’.  I knew there was a part of me that wanted to be happy and enjoy the moment, but the stronger force of my negative and skeptical mindset would win out and I would remain neutral on positive live events.

In needing to change my mindset and embrace a positive attitude and outlook, I needed to approach everything with what I call a reborn mind.  It is possible to rewire your mind and outlook to take all life experiences from a positive approach.  Trust me, I didn’t think this was possible until finally tried and became mindful of how I was thinking.  It initially took the form of taking my past challenges and what I considered “failures” and turning them into lessons and learning experiences.  The past cannot be changed, but if we can change because of the past, it was not a wasted experience.  Once you can take comfort and blessings from the past, it can start to create a better present and outlook into the future.

In addition to this, in order to shift into a positive mindset, it is imperative to live in gratitude.  A lot of sadness and longing in our mind comes from what we have lost or what we want, but do not have.  But instead of letting the things or people that are not our lives currently dictate how we feel, we should instead be thankful for what we do have.  Most of us have a lot more in our lives that we see or want to acknowledge.  Did you wake up this morning?  Did you take a breath and let that oxygen invigorate your body?  Just being able to wake up and know you are here on this earth as a one of a kind being, is a blessing on its own that deserves a tremendous amount of gratitude on its own. Your family, friends that care about you, a roof over your head, food on your table.  All these things we can very easily take for granted, but without any of these we would be in a much devoid place in life.  So be thankful for what you have in life and inner happiness will follow.  Not only that, as you live in a live of gratitude, miracles and great experiences will occur in your life.  We get back what we put out into the universe; So, when you live with a grateful mind and heart, nothing but kindness and love will be given back to you.
